The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership (GBRPP) is offering grants to assist with land transaction costs for the permanent land protection projects in the coastal watershed area of New Hampshire and Maine. The Spring 2023 grant round will accept applications for both the Grant Program 1 Prospective Project Appraisals and Grant Program 2 Completed Project Transaction Costs.

The Great Bay Partnership awards $50,112 for land transaction costs to seven conservation projects

The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership announced the Fall 2022 recipients of Land Protection Transaction Grant Program grant awards. A total of $50,112 in grant funds will support conservation work on over 797 acres of land. The seven conservation projects provide over $75,000 in matching funds.

The Land Protection Transaction Grant Program assists land trusts, conservation organizations and municipal governments in the coastal watershed of New Hampshire and Maine with land protection transaction costs including appraisal, land survey, legal, title, recording fees, easement baseline documentation and environmental assessments. The eligible properties are permanently protected through
donation or acquisition of land and conservation easements.

The Fall 2022 grant awards include conservation properties representing a diversity of natural resources including woodlands, agricultural lands and open fields, important wildlife habitats and water resources.

The Fall 2022 Land Protection Transaction Grant Recipients:

  • Town of Brentwood Conservation Commission, $3,000 Appraisal, Brentwood, NH.
  • Town of Farmington, $7,500 Conservation Project Grant, Farmington, NH
  • Southeast Land Trust of NH, $3,400 Appraisal Grant, Newfields and Newmarket, NH
  • Southeast Land Trust of NH $2,100 Appraisal Grant, Madbury, NH
  • Southeast Land Trust of NH, $15,612 Conservation Project Grant, Greenland, NH
  • Town of Stratham, $3,500 Appraisal Grant, Stratham, NH.
